Power generation

Wind power could become a viable option, perhaps with large scale community windmills, or smaller localised windmills cooperatively owned by a number of homes.

Maybe the economics are better for power generation for individual homes? If we bought large quantities of suitable micro generating systems, it may work out more economical and then each home would become responsible for their own generation and also for managing consumption so that it falls within the generating capacity.

These are some thoughts to get the dialogue going.

This became clear to me some while ago, and as a result of this I am keen to see us growing a lot more food on this island.

There are lots of ways we can do this. The obvious ones that can be started now are
The ones which take longer to setup are the larger scale ones.
In the case of larger areas, suitable land needs to be indentified, and then rights or permission gained to use it for food production. This might include property owned by a sympathetic individual or family, Council (community) owned land, or land leased from absentee owners.
